The Rohde Building is a complex of two ten-story towers that serves several local offices for the State of Florida Administrative departments.
EMTec has designed renovations to the building to make the complex
compliant with federal energy efficiency
requirements.
During the initial phase of the project, the client, the Department of Management Services, requested conceptual ideas for the replacement of the four existing chillers. Knowing that any design to be proposed had to avoid any down time, a solution was found by designing the replacement of the two South Tower chillers while maintaining the building operational with the two chillers in the North Tower. To accomplish this, a chiller water-interconnecting loop, between both towers, was installed at an existing 4th floor bridge.
