The Bennett Building is an existing ten story Federal building that is run by the General Services Administration and houses local Federal agencies, including the Department of Labor, the Internal Revenue Service, and the Department of Housing Urban Development among others.  EMTec is serving as the MEP designers for the complete renovation of the building.

The renovation is a $24 million project that is being managed by a contractor at risk selected by GSA.  During the design phases of the project the contractor was responsible to provide price estimating based on design drawings and specifications.  As the MEP designers it was EMTec’s responsibility to review and comment on the estimates to ensure accuracy and review with the contractor any value engineering possibilities to ensure that the project remained within budgetary constraints.
